Q. Can you print some information on Michael Phelps' father?

A. Fred Phelps is a retired Maryland state trooper. He and Michael's mother, Debbie, divorced in 1992, and since then he has had limited contact with his son, according to a recent New York Post article.

Q. Why aren't the soap opera summaries printed in the Saturday paper any longer?

A. The summaries are now printed on the TV and advice page in Sunday's paper; it's usually page F2.

Q. I live in a housing development near the Waterloo Post Office. How many trucks and semis deliver mail there 24 hours a day?

A. Unless the caller can specify exactly where they live, it's hard to tell, said Waterloo Post Office Postmaster Greg Barnes. That said, 77 city and rural routes are run out of the Waterloo Post Office each day, which means approximately that many vehicles are in and out of the main location every day.
