LA PORTE CITY - Marie Gray is celebrating her 88th birthday with a card shower.

She was born Jan. 10, 1920, in Humeston, and she married Boyd L. Gray in 1940. He is now deceased.

They had three sons, James and Thomas, both now deceased; and Ted Gray of Evansdale. She has five grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Gray worked as a librarian and teacher's aide at Jewett School in Evansdale, where she lived for many years. She now resides at La Porte City Nursing and Rehab, Highway 218, La Porte City 50651, where cards may be sent.
