On Feb. 29, 1968, Carl D. Benning and Wanda K. Meyer were united in marriage at St. Peter's United Church of Christ of rural Geneva.

Their family includes Cynthia, Dave and Isabella "Ella" Canney of Waverly, Corey, Anjanette, Cedar and Ansel Benning of Lakeville, Minn., and Chris Benning of Cedar Falls.

Wanda also celebrates her leap day birthday on Feb. 29. The couple reside at 1310 Dalton Drive, Waverly. They will celebrate with a family dinner.
