PLAINFIELD - John and Myrtle Jensen will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary with a card shower and family dinner.

John Jensen and Myrtle Shipp were married May 29, 1948, at Horton Baptist Church.

Mr. and Mrs. Jensen retired from farming. He served in the Iowa Senate from 1979 to 2002 and she worked as his secretary for many of those years.

Their children are Carolann of Osceola, Rita of Viola, Ill., Stanley (Teresa) of Ankeny, Alan (Joelle) of North English and Linda (Don) of Plainfield. They have seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
