WATERLOO -- Hospital officials last week christened a $1.5 million upgrade to Covenant Medical Center's catheterization lab.
The upgrade allows cardiologists to view coronary arteries in high definition detail.
The facility was paid for with a donation from Schoitz Health Resources, a financially independent nonprofit arm of Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare.
"We are committed to expanding the services our patients need and providing high-quality care to Northeast Iowans," said Jack Dusenbery, Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare president and CEO. "With rapidly expanding technology, this donation has allowed us to deliver the best available care to our cardiac patients."
Allen Hospital upgraded its two catheterization labs in 2006 with the same technology.
