WATERLOO - The Logan Avenue Hy-Vee Food Store has opened two new services within the Hy-Vee store - Hy-Vee Home Medical and a registered dietitian.

Hy-Vee Home Medical will be staffed by trained HME staff in respiratory care, customer service, mobility/powered products and home medical convenience items. Hours will be Monday through Friday 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

The Home Medical Department was developed as a pilot department where there was not a Hy-Vee Drug Town and will provide a full line of HME products like oxygen, CPAP/ BiPAP, hospital beds, power scooters/ power wheelchairs and standard wheelchairs.

Hy-Vee will also carry orthopedic braces, incontinent items, walkers, canes, crutches, rollators, bath safety items. It will be staffed with registered and certified respiratory therapists Ranae Dolleslager and Dana Jenson.

The Hy-Vee dietitian will be available Wednesdays and Fridays from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. The dietitian, Stephanie Beenken, will provide a number of services, such as individual nutrition consultation, personal shopping assistance, supermarket tours, group nutrition classes, recipe demonstrations and cooking classes.

Hy-Vee Home Medical is located next to the Hy-Vee Pharmacy inside the store. The pharmacy is available Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. pm and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
