WATERLOO - Mediacom Communications recently added Video On Demand to its array of broadband products and services for residential customers in and around the metro area.

Available to digital subscribers, Video On Demand allows customers to instantly order movies, sports, concerts, special interest programs and cable network packages whenever they want. While viewing, customers can fast forward, rewind, pause and replay the program as often as they want throughout the 24-hour rental period.

Programs are ordered through the remote control.

"You don't have to worry about late fees with on-demand service," said Randy Brown, Mediacom regional vice president for Central Iowa.

On-Demand subscribers also receive Mag Rack, which offers a variety of entertainment and information programs on subjects ranging from food and wine to motorcycles and travel. Each subject contains video segments that are updated every month.

"Mag Rack is like a video magazine," said Todd Behrends, communications manager for Mediacom. "It's constantly being updated, kind of like a magazine through your television set. It's been very well received by the customers that have viewed it."

On-Demand is available to Waterloo, Cedar Falls, Elk Run Heights, Evansdale, Gilbertville, Raymond and Washburn residential subscribers.
