DES MOINES (AP) - Agriprocessors - the embattled kosher meatpacking company accused of violating Iowa's child labor laws - reacted Wednesday to government allegations made public this week.

Menachem Lubinsky, a spokesman for Agriprocessors, said the company has cooperated with state officials throughout the investigation, which spanned several months.

He added labor officials are refusing to identify underage workers they claimed were working at the plant. He says the company would have fired them.

In recent months, officials with the company have had to repeatedly defend the Agriprocessors' hiring practices at its plant in Postville.

In May, federal immigration officials raided the plant and arrested nearly 400 workers in what is the largest immigration enforcement operation in U.S. history.

This week, the Iowa Labor Commission announced investigators had uncovered 57 cases of child labor law violations at the plant.
