CEDAR FALLS - Iowa Heartland Habitat for Humanity is getting a boost from GMAC Financial Services with volunteer help and house-funding.
GMAC will provide partial sponsorship and up to four GMAC volunteers weekly to build a home in Cedar Falls.
The three-bedroom, one-bathroom home will be for the Jacobs family - a mom and four daughters.
Groundbreaking will take place on Saturday at 4:30 p.m. at 2020 Tremont St.
All are invited to share in the 73rd home start for IHHFH.
Construction on the home will begin in October and will be completed in spring 2009.
"We are thankful to GMAC for their continuing donations that will help families locally and across the country have a simple, decent place to call home," said Linda Morgan, executive director of Iowa Heartland Habitat for Humanity.
GMAC's support will include funding to help build 12 Habitat homes in the United States.GMACwill also help fund additional homes in Canada and Mexico.
More than 500 GMAC employees also will join in efforts to build the homes this year.
