Iowa teen hurt in hunting incident Sunday
LENOX – A Lenox teenager suffered an injury after the rifle he was carrying accidently fired into the calf of his leg while hunting Sunday in Taylor County.

Ely Will, 15, was reportedly crossing a ditch while hunting south of Lenox late Sunday afternoon when the .22-caliber rifle he was carrying fired hitting him in the left leg. He was hunting with Payton Glynn, 18, of Lenox, at the time, according to the Iowa Department of Natural Resources.

Will’s injury was not life-threatening. The accident remains under investigation by the Iowa DNR.

" Yank his hunting license and require him to attend gun safety classes, as I can think of no *legitimate* way a properly handled gun could *ever* hit you in the calf.

He was being unsafe, and is a danger to himself, and anyone around him when he has a gun. "

" IowaHawk1969,
Or, you know be reasonable and punish the morons that do something stupid, and not everyone.

I would compare banning guns due to the stupidity of a hunter to banning cars due to the stupidity of a driver, except that doesn't hold up -- there is no constitutional right to own a car. "
