Fire displaces Plainfield family
PLAINFIELD — Fire crews are on the scene of an early morning blaze that has displaced a family northeast of town.

The Plainfield Fire Department was called out to 1308 Easton Ave., for a report of fire, according to the Hawkeye Chapter of the American Red Cross. The single story home is owned by Dale and Barbara Aikey, according to property records.

The Bremer County Sheriff’s Office said deputies were called out to the scene early this morning, but wasn’t able to provide an exact time. The State Fire Marshal’s Office has also been called in to help investigate the cause of the fire.

The Red Cross said two adults and three children were provided with clothing and food after the fire.
