By BOB LINK, Courier Lee News Service
CHARLES CITY — Police have released the name of a 25-year-old man shot in a Friday night incident in Charles City.

Lamont M. Frasier, 25, Charles City, was originally taken to the Floyd County Medical Center but was later transferred to a hospital in Iowa City .

Charles City Police Chief Mike Wendell says he does not know the status of Frasier, but he doesn’t believe the injuries are life threatening.

Wendell said the search continues for Jerome Lovelle Williams, 24, also of Charles City.

Williams has been charged with attempted murder and kidnapping as a result of the incident in the 500 block of Wright Street.

Williams is described as and African American, 5 feet, 7 inches tall and weighing 150 pounds. He has dark skin and dark hair.

According to a press release from the Charles City Police Department, Williams is not considered an immediate threat to the general public. However, police say he should be considered armed and dangerous.

Anyone encountering him should contact the nearest law enforcement agency.
