Investigation continues into home invasions
WATERLOO — Police are investigating a home invasion robbery early today and similar attempt on a neighboring home Wednesday night.

Police were called to 533 Reed St. at 4:38 a.m.

Police said two black males wearing hoods and bandanas over their faces forced their way into the residence. One of the suspects was armed with a handgun and the other with a baseball bat.

They demanded money from the residents, Wesley Payne amd Marcus Hughes, and the two fled. No injuries were reported.

At 10:55 p.m. Wednesday, police received a similar report from a resident at 517 Reed St.

In that case, police said two males wearing scarves over their faces tried to force their way into that home. When the resident, Christopher Tatum, answered the knock at the door, the two attempted to gain entry. Tatum was able to slam the door shut and the suspects fled.

" This invasion process sounds much like the Obama tax plan. So now I know why his view on Guns goes hand in hand with his tax policy. "

" Homeowners, keep your doors and windows locked at all times! Please remember to keep good, fresh, clean ammunition in your high caliber, preferably automatic, pistol.

Remember also, when seconds count, the cops are minutes away. "

" Andy, don't worry, your guns aren't going anywhere, regardless of Obama's views. He's not going to take them away . . . just like George W. Bush didn't end abortion.

It's just not going to happen.

That being said, I am a liberal who is in favor of good citizens being armed. I'm a peaceful person, but if anyone tries to invade my home, I will be ready to defend my loved ones. "
