GILBERTVILLE — An early morning fire Sunday forced a Gilbertville bar and restaurant to close pending repairs.
Firefighters were called to the 10th Inning, 110 25th Ave., at about 3:30 a.m. Sunday.
The establishment was closed at the time, and no one was inside, said Curt Bovy, chief of the Gilbertville Fire Department.
Also helping were crews from the Raymond Fire Department and Evansale Fire Rescue’s ambulance, Bovy said.
"The kitchen area was pretty well burned up, and then there was smoke and water damage to the rest of the building," Bovy said.
"They won’t be open for business until they get everything taken care of," he said.
The Iowa Fire Marshal’s Office is trying to determine how the blaze started, but a cause hasn’t been determined. Bovy said the fire doesn’t appear suspicious.
