Shots to be offered in Bremer County
WAVERLY --- Beginning today, the Visiting Nursing Association and Bremer County Public Health Department will host flu immunization clinics.
The schedule follows:
1 to 4 p.m. today, Faith United Church of Christ, 408 S. Main St., Tripoli
3:30 to 4:30 p.m. Friday, Plainfield Public Library, 723 Main St.
1 to 4 p.m. Oct. 20, Sumner Durant School, 601 W. Fifth St., Sumner
9 a.m. to noon and 1 to 4 p.m. Oct. 21, Redeemer Lutheran Church, 2001 W. Bremer Ave., Waverly
4 to 6 p.m. Oct. 29, City Hall, 227 Main St., Janesville
9 to 11 a.m. Oct. 30, Community Center, 100 Washington St., Denver
Vaccinations also are available from 10 a.m. to noon and from 2 to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday at the Visiting Nursing Association office, 2530 University Ave., Suite 3, in Waterloo.
No appointment is necessary.
The Center for Disease Control recommends everyone receive the vaccination, including children 6 months or older and adults 50 or older. Those living with or caring for people at high risk for influenza related complications should also be vaccinated.
The flu vaccination is free for those with Medicare Part B medical insurance. For others, the cost is $26. Flu mist is also available for those ages 2 to 49 years old.
