SUMNER �” Mary Lee Meyer, 74, of Sumner, died Saturday, Oct. 4, at Allen Hospital, Waterloo, following a brief illness.

She was born Dec. 26, 1933, in Sumner, daughter of Arthur and Freda Sass Huebner. On June 22, 1952, she married Ernie A. Meyer at St. John Lutheran Church, Sumner. He died in January 2008.

Mrs. Meyer graduated from Sumner High School in 1951. She worked for her father and later became co-owner with her husband of Sumner Tire. She had been a member of St. John Lutheran Church.

Survived by: two sons, Randy (Teresa) of Waverly and Tim (Darcy) of Colcord, Okla.; a daughter, Diane (John Dockendorf) Brase of Frederika; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Nancy Huebner of Riverside, Calif.

Preceded in death by: a son-in-law, Tim Brase; and two brothers, James and Milton Huebner.

Services: 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at St. John Lutheran Church, Sumner, with burial in the church cemetery. Public visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. today at Becker-Milnes Funeral Home, Sumner, and for an hour before services Tuesday at the church.

Memorials: may be directed to the family for a memorial choice to be made later.
