EVANSDALE — Milo R. Stocks, 85, of Evansdale, died Wednesday, Sept. 3, at Allen Hospital.
He was born July 19, 1923, in Raymond, son of George and Nellie Brown Stocks. He married Barbara Dimmitt on Sept. 14, 1946, in Waterloo.
Mr. Stocks had worked at Rath Packing Co. and Illinois-Central Railroad and then as a carpenter at Lockard Construction for 40 years, retiring in 1984. He served in the U.S. Army in Europe during World War II.
Survived by: his wife; four sons, Larry Stocks, Bud and Tony, all of Evansdale, and Rusty (Reneta) of Dewar; a daughter, Lois Sanderson of Arkansas; 13 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Delmer, Charles (Margie) and Gerald (Arlene), all of Evansdale; and two sisters, Joyce Cornwell of Independence and Rita (Sonny) Flood of Janesville.
Preceded in death by: three brothers, Eugene, Graydon and George Jr.; and two sisters, Darlene Christofferson and Velma Stocks
Services: 2 p.m. Monday at Locke Funeral Home, with burial in Poyner Township Cemetery. Military rites will be conducted by Evansdale AMVETS Post 31 and Waterloo AMVETS Post 19. Public visitation from 2 to 5 p.m. today at the funeral home.
