Suspected burglars pick wrong house in Elgin
ELGIN --- A property owner took matters into his own hands Sunday, chasing and catching a suspected thief, according to the Fayette County sheriff's office.

Authorities received a 911 call reporting a burglary in progress at a residence in Elgin.

Alerted by a witness that four young people were taking items from his back porch, the owner of the residence ran after the subjects. He apprehended one.

When deputies arrived the three other suspects were identified and later charged.

Tyler Hansen, 18, of Clermont; Jessie Bennington, 18, of Volga; Jacob Loomis, 17, of Wadena, and Alex Moyle, 17, of Wadena, are accused of third-degree burglary.

The juveniles were released to their parents and referred to juvenile court services. Hansen was arrested and taken to the Fayette County Jail.

Authorities have not yet found Bennington but have filed charges.

The victim retrieved all his stolen property.
