Changes made to Saturday's hip-hop event
By Courier Staff
CEDAR FALLS --- The weather has caused some changes  to Saturday's Make Hip-Hop Not War event.

The show has moved indoors to the Reverb, 204 1/2 Main St., from Overman Park, said Chris Schwartz of Cedar Valley United for Peace & Justice. Working around the Reverb's schedule, the start time of the event has changed from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., but will continue until 8 p.m. as planned.

Two of the performers have been replaced due to availability. Critical Technique and Dead Prez are no longer performing and will be replaced by East Coast DJs Akir and Choklate. Other speakers and performers will remain the same and include Ben Cohen of Ben & Jerry's; Rev. Lennox Yearwood Jr., president of the Hip-Hop Caucus; and DJ Chela.

According to the tour's MySpace page, the purpose of the campaign is "to get more people of color, college students and young people involved in the anti-war movement."
