Baby Bash's 'Saucy' heavy on collaborations
By AARON SANTINI, For Pulse
Bay Area hip-hopper Baby Bash's latest album, "Super Saucy," stays true to the smooth hip-hop/R&B sound we've come to know from Mr. Bash. All but one song on the album "features" another artist. The first track is the radio-friendly "Baby I'm Back," featuring Akon, who also makes an appearance on the laid-back seventh track, "No Way Jose." In all, there are 25 other artists who make appearances on "Super Saucy." Artists of all kinds take part, from R&B gangsta crooner Nate Dogg, featured on "That's My Lady (Money)," to pop star Natalie on the very club-sounding "Throwed Off" and "Bubbalicious."

Baby Bash shows his humorous side on "Who Wit Me," which has a marching band sound and continues the school feel with cheerleaders chanting, "You ain't got no alibi/you're u-g-l-y!" He also shows off his rapping skills on "Keep It 100," which showcases Baby Bash's speedy flow.

"Super Saucy" also includes an unnumbered bonus track at the end of the CD. It's a Spanglish version of the song "Obsession" done in collaboration with Frankie J. The CD keeps a consistent sound from beginning to end, so much so that sometimes it's tough to tell one song from another.

Aaron Santini is program director and on-air personality for Q92.3.
