WATERLOO - A woman was injured Tuesday afternoon when she apparently stumbled across discarded methamphetamine lab materials in a roadside ditch.

Lena Miller, no age or address listed, was taken to Allen Hospital, where she was treated for chemical burns and released, hospital officials said.

Miller discovered a container in the area of the 800 block of Airline Highway, according to Black Hawk County sheriff's deputies, and was burned by anhydrous ammonia when she tried to pick it up.

Officers with the Tri-County Drug Enforcement Task Force removed the container.
