The builders and remodelers of the Cedar Valley have been working hard to put the finishing touches on their projects. The high standards for top notch workmanship and quality have become a benchmark that customers have come to expect from our members. There is a significant investment made in these home projects by our members to give you the opportunity to see the unique style, innovation and new products available in the homebuilding industry. I personally would like to invite you to visit the 2009 Cedar Valley Parade of Homes sponsored by the Home Builders Association of Northeast Iowa and Courier Communications.
Proceeds from the parade are used to cover the cost of the event and to fund scholarships for local students to pursue a career in a construction related field. Congratulations to our 2009 scholarship winners Justin Rohlfsen and Rachel Rottinghaus.
With all the negative news surrounding the housing industry, a person might think this is not a good time to persue a building project. In fact, now is one of the best times to get a great deal because material prices and interest rates are at record lows. There are stimulus tax credits for the green energy products that go into building or renovating a home today, they are only available for a limited time. It truly is a unique time to get that project done; the wind truly is at your back.
From all of the Northeast Iowa Home Builders, remodelers and subcontractors that make this annual event possible, we thank you for taking the time to attend and make the 2009 Cedar Valley Parade of Homes a success.
It is a privilege to serve this fine organization of building professionals and know that these are truly the finest quality individuals that I have seen from across the nation.

2010 HBANEI SCHOLARSHIP
The Home Builders Association of Northeast Iowa helps the next generation of professional home builders master their craft, donating thousands of dollars to deserving students each year. The Board of Directors, HBANEI, offers qualified students up to $1500 to pursue a major course of study in the Home Building trades or related Industry. The scholarships are awarded to students who will attend a local college or university in the northeast Iowa area.
To be eligible for a scholarship from HBANEI, students should meet the following requirements:
• You must be a High School Senior or current College Student
• Be enrolled in an approved major on the Home Building trades or related industry
• Be a resident of the State of Iowa
Scholarships are paid directly to your school in your name after your enrollment has been verified.
A scholarship committee appointed by the Board of Directors, HBANEI, reviews all applications and awards the scholarships.
